Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has spoken about his side's narrow triumph over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
The match ended 2-1 in favour of the Merseysiders, with Alexis Mac Allister netting the crucial winning goal.
In the aftermath, the Dutch international gave an interview to CBS Golazo, where he assessed the challenging encounter against Diego Simeone's side and also reflected on the first victory for manager Andoni Iraola in charge.
It was a tough match against a team that always gives us a hard time. It feels like I've played against them almost ten times over the past nine years. We handled the situation well. There were plenty of changes, so we had to adapt, and we did that successfully.
I hope that under his leadership, we will continue to improve with each game. We are working hard on that, and it must continue. I’m not sure what we’ll achieve this season, but let's just enjoy it.
