Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United ARE weighing up a move for 18-year-old Bayern Munich talent Lennart Karl in 2027. Despite recently extending his contract, questions remain about the player's future in Munich.
Karl is regarded as one of the most promising young players at Bayern, but he's finding it tough to break into the first team. The attacking line is stocked with star players, leading to limited opportunities for the young German.
This summer, reports suggested that Karl turned down a move to the Premier League, opting instead to sign a new deal with the Bavarians that runs until 2029.
Nevertheless, interest from English clubs is still very much alive. Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd ARE keeping tabs on the situation and could make a play for the midfielder in 2027.
Uli Hoeness criticises Karl's attitude
Further questions have arisen after the public criticism from Bayern's honorary president Uli Hoeness.
Hoeness expressed concern over the young player's attitude towards his own progress following recent performances under Vincent Kompany.
He stated:
I intend to have a serious conversation with Lennart Karl. He still has a long way to go before he reaches superstar status.
Young players need to be modest. Comparisons with Michael Olise are not doing him any favours. There is still a huge gap between them.
Hoeness's comments came amid growing attention on Karl and his prospects within the first team.
Bayern fear losing their talent
The Munich club recognise that limited playing time could prompt Karl to seek opportunities elsewhere.
However, the existing contract until 2029 allows Bayern to retain control of the situation.
For now, it’s merely interest from English clubs; no concrete offers or negotiations regarding Karl's transfer have been reported.
Yet, should the 18-year-old's standing in Kompany's team not improve, Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd could find themselves in a strong position to contest for one of German football's most promising talents.
