Newcastle United are tracking Polish player Jakub Krzyżanowski. A representative watched the 20-year-old left-back in a match for Wisla, but interest is still in preliminary stages. Augsburg and other teams are also keeping tabs on the player.

Newcastle United are making moves towards acquiring Polish defender Jakub Krzyżanowski, currently at Wisla Krakow.

A scout from Newcastle was seen keeping a close eye on the 20-year-old left-back during a recent game against Rakow, but it appears any discussions around a transfer are still very much in preliminary stages.

Polish journalist Tomasz Wlodarczyk from Meczyki.pl has confirmed Newcastle's interest in the young defender, but they are not alone in their pursuit. Kszyszanowski has attracted attention from a broader pool of clubs eager to assess his talents.

Right now, Newcastle's focus seems to be on evaluating the player’s performance and future potential rather than engaging in any significant negotiations or imminent transfers. Observing Krzyżanowski in action is part of their assessment process as they weigh up a possible move.

The defender joined Wisla Krakow in September 2022, and his current contract runs until June 2030, which could complicate any potential transfer for interested parties.

Augsburg are also showing interest

It has also been reported that German side Augsburg are monitoring Krzyżanowski's progress. The player himself acknowledged in an interview with Kanał Sportowy that he is aware of the interest from the Bundesliga club.

According to Transfermarkt, the market value of the 20-year-old defender is estimated at €2.5 million. However, Krzyżanowski has yet to receive a call-up to the Poland U21 national team.
