Diego Leon's agent has made it clear that the young left-back is considering his future at Manchester United. If the club fails to lay out a clear path to the first team, he will search for opportunities to leave in January.
Renato Bittar, the player's representative, spoke to ABC Deportes about potential next steps.
From December to January, if there is no plan for his promotion to the first team, we will seek options for him. A loan where he can compete, gain playing time, and return to Manchester is on the table. The Championship is an option, along with other European leagues, but we’d prefer to stay here. He’s performing well with the under-21s, training excellently, and his physical condition is outstanding.
Leon joined Manchester United from Paraguayan club Cerro Porteno in July 2025. While he has been a regular in the youth setup, he has yet to make a first-team appearance, even with injuries to Luke Shaw and Patrick Dorgu leaving opportunities available.
In March, the defender expressed his ambition to become a club legend and make Paraguay proud. However, with Michael Carrick's side currently struggling, Leon's future may hinge on developments in the coaching hierarchy over the coming months.
A loan would offer the young defender a chance to gain competitive experience while keeping his contract with the English club intact.
