15-Second Brief
Chelsea and Man City sent scouts to watch Nicolo Tresoldi, who scored a hat-trick for Brugge. This season, the 22-year-old forward has netted 12 goals in 14 matches. Arsenal and AC Milan are also following him, while the Belgian club is reluctant to sell.

Chelsea and Manchester City have entered the race for Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi. Representatives from both English clubs attended Sunday’s match against Sint-Truiden, where the 22-year-old bagged a hat-trick to secure a 3-2 victory for his team.

Tresoldi is having an impressive season, with 12 goals in 14 appearances across all competitions. He also scored three times in a recent Champions League match against Inter.

With four goals in the current tournament, the German striker shares the top spot in the competition's scoring chart.

His exceptional form has drawn attention from leading European clubs. In addition to Chelsea and Manchester City, Arsenal and AC Milan are also keeping tabs on the forward.

Chelsea searching for a striker once again

The Londoners signed Danny Welbeck and Emmanuel Emeka last summer following the departures of Nicolas Jackson and Liam Delap. However, the club continues to explore the market for central strikers.

In their last match against Tottenham, Morgan Rogers had to step in at the forefront due to the absence of Joao Pedro.

Chelsea are closely monitoring Tresoldi's progress and see him as a potential candidate for strengthening their squad in 2027.

Nevertheless, their primary transfer target remains a central midfielder, with a considerable part of the budget potentially allocated for acquiring Alex Scott from Bournemouth.

Thus, the decision to sign another forward will heavily depend on Joao Pedro's condition and the performances of Welbeck and Emeka.

City eye Tresoldi as a possible replacement for Haaland

Manchester City's interest is partly linked to the uncertainty surrounding Erling Haaland's future.

With ongoing investigations into the club's alleged financial breaches, speculation about the Norwegian's departure is rife. Should he leave, Tresoldi could become a viable option for his replacement.

However, reaching an agreement with Brugge will not be easy, as the Belgian club currently has no intentions of selling their top scorer.

No formal offers from English clubs have been made yet, but if Tresoldi continues to find the back of the net at this rate, competition for his signature next summer could intensify significantly.
