Luka Vuskovic has swiftly become a hot property on the transfer market. The 19-year-old defender from Brighton has caught the eye of heavyweight clubs including Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Barcelona.
However, Bayern Munich and Chelsea are also among the clubs keen on acquiring the young talent.
Vuskovic made the switch to Brighton from Tottenham last summer, in a record deal for the club that could rise to £50 million.
Prior to joining Brighton, the Croatian impressed during a loan spell at Hamburg, establishing himself as a key figure in the starting lineup upon his arrival at the Amex.
His strengths include impressive aerial ability, composure on the ball, and physicality, making him a jewel in the eyes of scouts.
Bayern have been tracking Vuskovic for some time, dating back to his performances in Germany.
Rumours suggest that Vuskovic has not ruled out a potential switch to the Bavarians in the future.
However, for such a move to materialise, Bayern will likely need to free up some space in their squad and budget, with players like Kim Min Jae and Hiroki Ito potentially on the chopping block.
Chelsea are also closely monitoring Vuskovic as they look to bolster their defensive options ahead of next summer.
Liverpool are now joining the fray, aiming to strengthen their central defence, particularly given the uncertainty surrounding Virgil van Dijk's future.
The 35-year-old captain's contract expires at the end of the season, hence Vuskovic is seen as a long-term option to fill that void.
Interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona remains strong as well, with the Catalan club keeping tabs on the Croatian since last season, while both clubs have ramped up their scouting efforts recently.
So far, none of the clubs have made an official bid.
It is expected that specific negotiations will take place, but likely not until next summer rather than January.
Brighton are under no pressure to sell and are not obliged to part with their player.
Vuskovic’s contract runs until 2031, and he has become an integral part of Fabian Hurzeler's team.
The club views him as a long-term asset, meaning prospective buyers will have to part with a substantial fee to secure his services.
