Manchester United have confirmed that Adam Lawrence will continue as head coach of the Under-21 team. He will lead the club's professional development structure, covering age groups from Under-16 to Under-21 players.
Lawrence returned to the Carrington training complex in January 2026 after Travis Binnion moved to the first-team coaching staff. Under Adam's guidance, the youth team reached the Premier League 2 play-off final last season.
Previously, he led the U18 team to victory in both the national championship and the Premier League Cup in the 2023/24 season.
Academy director Stephen Toppy commented on this decision:
I’m extremely pleased that Adam will lead our professional development pathway. Having worked at Manchester United for many years, Adam fully understands the football club and our ambitious plans for the academy's future.
Lawrence will also oversee the youth team’s participation in the UEFA Youth League.
