Manchester United are preparing to offload Andre Onana in the summer of 2027, with the Cameroon goalkeeper attracting attention from two Turkish clubs—his loan side Trabzonspor and rivals Galatasaray.
According to FootballTransfers, Trabzonspor are keen on making the deal permanent. However, as reported by Africa Foot, Galatasaray could also enter the fray for the 30-year-old.
From €50 million to a potential €10 million sale
Onana joined Manchester United from Inter in 2023 for around €50 million, arriving with high expectations to replace David de Gea and bolster the team's play from the back. However, a series of mistakes undermined his standing within the squad.
Following the signing of Senne Lammens in the summer of 2025, Onana made the switch to Turkey. Reports from FootballTransfers suggest that Manchester United may be open to selling the keeper for approximately €10 million in 2027, down from earlier estimates of €30–40 million.
Trabzonspor face competition from Galatasaray
Sources indicate that Onana is content at Trabzonspor, who are displaying ambition in the transfer market. Yet, a decision on a permanent move has yet to be settled.
Galatasaray's interest complicates matters for Trabzonspor. Notably, Galatasaray recently secured goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir from their Turkish rivals, prompting Trabzonspor to seek a new shot-stopper.
Onana's contract with Manchester United runs until 2028, making the summer of 2027 an apt time for his sale. Growing interest in the goalkeeper may provide United with better offers, allowing them to minimise financial losses on the transfer.
