Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has successfully convinced Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott to move to Stamford Bridge during the winter transfer window, with both parties reportedly reaching a verbal agreement on personal terms.
According to insider Simon Phillips, the Blues are looking to complete the £90 million transfer of the England international before the January window officially opens. Chelsea had previously made an offer for the talented midfielder last summer, but that deal fell through.
Xabi Alonso took the initiative to hold talks with Scott personally, swaying him to make the switch to Chelsea. The midfielder has also garnered positive feedback from several players within the London squad, who have been discussing the move with him.
While the agreement between the player and the club is in place, Chelsea still needs to finalise negotiations with Bournemouth regarding the player's fee.
