Former Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino has publicly backed Alexander Isak, the Merseysiders' forward, expressing his belief that the Swedish star will navigate through a difficult beginning and find success at Anfield.
Isak joined Liverpool from Newcastle United on September 1, 2025, for a record-breaking fee of £125 million, making him the most expensive signing in British football history. Following this hefty transfer, the 26-year-old has faced immense pressure and a series of injuries, but Firmino is adamant that Isak has already shown his top-tier quality in the Premier League.
"Alex needs to stay positive. All strikers go through tough patches, but he has proven in previous years that he is one of the best in the Premier League,” Firmino stated.
