Manchester United forward Mateus Cunha expressed his disappointment following the 1-1 draw away to Fulham at Craven Cottage.
During the match, the Brazilian striker netted his first goal of the Premier League season 2026/27, finding the back of the net in what seemed to be a fortunate scenario. Yet, this moment of personal glory brought him little joy, overshadowed by the overall result.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Cunha critiqued his teammates' mindset at the start of the match:
This is disappointing for us. I feel we followed the game plan well at the beginning, creating dangerous opportunities. We were unlucky not to score, and the opponent took their only chance. It's hard to explain logically. After conceding, we played much better, showing enthusiasm and character. But we must play like that from the first whistle.
