The future of winger Noni Maduweke at Arsenal is looking increasingly uncertain. Reports suggest that several Premier League clubs are ready to fight for the 24-year-old player if the Gunners agree to let him leave in the January transfer window.
Maduweke joined Arsenal last year and made quite an impression in his debut season, but this campaign has seen him struggle for game time. He has managed just 23 minutes across the first four Premier League matches.
The emergence of young talent Max Dougherty has further complicated matters for the Englishman, as he now faces stiff competition for the right wing spot. As a result of his lack of playing time, Maduweke has also lost his place in the England squad.
However, the winger reminded manager Mikel Arteta of his quality with a goal in the EFL Cup match against Ipswich Town, which Arsenal won 4-2.
Arsenal must deliberate carefully on whether to sell the player in January, as doing so could weaken their attacking depth in the heat of the season. Maduweke's Premier League experience and ability to operate on either flank make him an asset. The key question remains whether Arteta sees him as a vital rotational player for the second half of the campaign.
