However, as the summer came to a close, Liverpool swooped in to secure the young goalkeeper from Genk. This has unfortunately forced Real to cross Brugmans off their list.
The fact that Brughmans is already starting for a strong Belgian club at such a young age speaks volumes about his talent, making his signing a significant blow for the Spanish giants.
Real will now turn their attention to other options, with Brighton's Bart Verbruggen emerging as a potential candidate.
There's no immediate rush to secure a transfer, given that Courtois is still performing at an impressive level. The club is expected to offer him a contract extension during the 2026/27 season, well ahead of his current deal expiring next summer.
