Manchester United are not looking into a potential signing of David Alaba after the summer transfer window has closed. Tyrone Marshall from the Manchester Evening News reports that the club has no plans to venture into the free agent market.
This summer, United primarily focused on strengthening their midfield after the departure of Casemiro and the serious injury to Manuel Ugarte. However, with the window now shut, questions have arisen regarding the depth of the defence and the possibility of bringing in a free agent.
Marshall shared his insights:
From what I understand, United are not considering the free agent market. Many of the players available have already passed their peak — Sergio Ramos and Dani Carvajal definitely fall into that category. Others have become free agents due to a decline in form, like Alaba.
Essentially, there are reasons why these players remain without clubs. They have previously commanded very high wages and do not fit the squad-building model that INEOS has implemented at Old Trafford.
