Jake O'Brien may be on his way out of Everton in the closing stages of the transfer window. As reported by Football Insider, the 25-year-old defender is dissatisfied with his current role and is open to a move to another Premier League club.
Last season, O'Brien primarily featured as a right-back, although he has a preference for playing centrally in defence. He was left on the bench for the opening match of the new season against Crystal Palace.
David Moyes currently favours Michael Keane, James Tarkowski, and Jarrad Branthwaite in the centre-back positions. Meanwhile, Everton is on the lookout for a new right-back, which could potentially pave the way for O'Brien's departure.
Both Crystal Palace and Leeds have shown interest in the player. O'Brien has previously played for Palace, and the London club is keen to bolster their defence following the departure of Maxime Lacroix.
O'Brien's contract with Everton runs until 2028, and should a sale go through, the club is reportedly hoping to receive around £30 million.
