Monaco striker Folarin Balogun stated he is still open to returning to the Premier League after his move to Everton fell through.

Monaco striker Folarin Balogun remains open to returning to the Premier League following a failed move to Everton on deadline day of the summer transfer window.

The potential transfer was valued at £40 million, but the deal between Monaco and Everton collapsed after Balogun had a change of heart and rejected the move.

According to sources close to the player, the American forward was dissatisfied with how the medical examinations and subsequent negotiations were handled by Everton. As a result, Balogun didn’t feel comfortable continuing the transfer process.

However, a return to England still remains a possibility for the 25-year-old striker.

“Yes, potentially I can return to England. A lot of unexpected things can happen in football, as we’ve seen since the World Cup,”

“I was close to the move, but it didn't happen. However, it definitely remains one of the options,” Balogun stated.

Monaco’s CEO Tiago Scuro previously hinted that the club might be willing to consider selling the forward in the January transfer window.
