Manchester United manager Michael Carrick is determined to get the best out of Bruno Fernandes, who he believes is in the prime of his career.
“Listen, we want to see top players,” Carrick stated in an interview with BBC.
“In every good team, there are players who have a significant impact on the game. That’s just how it is. Bruno has been doing that here for some time,” he added.
“We want to keep pushing forward and get the most out of Bruno and the team around him. He’s been incredibly positive since I returned,” the United boss noted.
“Beyond his play, it’s important how he conducts himself around the squad, how he leads, and how he finds time to assist others, especially the younger lads. That matters too. He’s in really good shape and is eager for the season to kick off,” Carrick concluded.
Despite interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia over the past two years, Fernandes remains at Old Trafford for another season. The midfielder's current contract expires next year, but United have the option to extend it.
