Dan Segal, agent of 17-year-old Philadelphia Union midfielder Kavan Sullivan, has voiced concerns regarding the proposed move of the player to Manchester City, stating that nothing is guaranteed despite a preliminary agreement.
Sullivan, who celebrated his 17th birthday on September 28, will not be able to join the English club until he turns 18 in September 2027, with a potential official move to the UK likely not happening before January 2028. A product of the Philadelphia academy, he made his senior debut in 2024 and has since appeared 49 times, scoring 10 goals and providing nine assists. Recently, he also made his debut for the United States national team in a match against Peru.
However, uncertainty surrounding the ongoing legal issues faced by Manchester City, accused of 114 breaches of Premier League financial rules, casts doubt on the deal. Segal commented on the situation:
It is true that there is a preliminary agreement with them for Sullivan, but you never know what could happen. We hope they resolve everything in the best way.
For now, Sullivan continues to play for Philadelphia Union, with over a year remaining before a potential transfer to Manchester City.
