Borussia Dortmund defender Daniel Svensson has addressed reports linking him with Arsenal and Liverpool. The 24-year-old Swede stated that there have been no negotiations with the English clubs.
Svensson joined Borussia from Nordsjælland on loan in February 2025, before the German club made his move permanent. Since then, he has made 73 appearances, scoring seven goals and providing seven assists.
Last summer, Svensson was frequently linked with moves to Arsenal and Liverpool. The player admitted he had seen these reports:
I’ve read something about it, but I haven’t heard anything more. Of course, it’s nice to read such things.
There wasn’t anything concrete. The only thing I knew was what I read in the papers. I’m happy in Dortmund and I want to continue my journey here.
When asked if he was ever close to a move to an English club, Svensson replied:
No. Not at all. To be honest.
The Swede's contract with Borussia Dortmund runs until 2029. In the current season, he has played seven matches, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
