Tottenham's head coach Roberto De Zerbi didn't hide his growing frustration following a goalless draw away to Nottingham Forest.
This disappointing result means that Spurs have failed to score in their opening three league matches for the first time since the 1974/75 season, accumulating just one point in the process.
Over the summer, De Zerbi spent big to bolster his squad, including a club-record £100 million deal for compatriot Sandro Tonali.
Tonali, Jan Paul van Hecke, Savinyo, Matthijs Tel and Omar Marmoush were among the new faces to feature in Nottingham. Despite the poor start, De Zerbi dismissed suggestions that panic had set in:
“We’ve signed some very, very good players, but you can't just assemble a team based on names, like in Football Manager.”
“We’re disappointed with the result, but I’m very satisfied with the performance. Considering we only started working together last Thursday, on the very first day.”
“We need to improve in all aspects of our game: organisation with and without the ball. I think we defended very well.”
“We need to work because I believe we played very well in possession and found solutions. I think we can do much better in the final third.”
