Chelsea have mapped out a strategy to revamp their central midfield as the summer transfer window draws to a close. Should they sell 25-year-old Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernandez, the Blues are poised to secure the signatures of two promising English midfielders — 22-year-old Adam Warton from Crystal Palace and 23-year-old Alex Scott from Bournemouth.
The club's hierarchy has already conducted preliminary work on both candidates as potential successors to Fernandez. Head coach Xabi Alonso is keen to form a new, dynamic partnership in the middle of the park, combining Warton's playmaking skills and passing culture with Scott's movement, mobility, and dribbling prowess.
The funds raised from Fernandez's transfer, valued at around £120 million, would enable Chelsea to meet the substantial financial demands of both Crystal Palace and Bournemouth, allowing them to fully equip their midfield to suit the needs of the Spanish tactician.
