The starting line-ups for the fourth round of the Premier League match between Chelsea and Hull City have been announced. The clash will take place today, 12 September, at Stamford Bridge, kicking off at 16:00 CET, 17:00 MSK.
Manager Xabi Alonso has named Emiliano Martinez, Wesley Fofana, Levi Colwill, and Giorgio Hato to form the backline for Chelsea. In midfield, the Blues will see Yannick Sango, Reece James, Romeo Lavia, and Malo Gusto take their positions.
Up front, the attacking trio will feature Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers, and Joao Pedro.
Alonso opts for a formation with three central defenders and two attacking midfielders supporting the forward, a strategy he has been favouring lately.
Hull City have Dzokalis in goal, with Jamal Lewis, John Egan, Crooks, and Josh Koyl making up their defence. The midfield will consist of Slater, Kurks, and Egan, while Elliot Stroud, Mohamed Bellumi, and Scott McBurney will lead the line for the Tigers.
Currently, Chelsea sit fourth in the league with six points, while Hull City are in third with seven points. Remarkably, Hull remain the only team in the Premier League yet to concede a goal after three fixtures.
On the injury front, Chelsea are still without Moises Caicedo, Marco Palastra, Jordan Henderson, and Emmanuel Emega, all of whom are ruled out due to fitness issues.
The Londoners come into this match on the back of an impressive 6-3 victory over Leeds in the League Cup, although they suffered a narrow 1-2 defeat against Arsenal in their last league outing.
Meanwhile, Hull City are yet to lose in the league; they have recorded two wins and a draw so far, sharing points with Aston Villa in their most recent match.
