Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has provided an update on the club's injury situation. New signing Carlos Baleba will be unable to make his debut for the Red Devils due to an ankle issue and will be sidelined for several weeks.
Speaking about Baleba's condition, Carrick stated:
He's got a minor ankle issue. He'll be unavailable for a couple of weeks.
Meanwhile, Amad Diallo continues his recovery following an injury that saw him miss the defeat against Hull in the previous round. Carrick is hopeful of having the winger back in time for the international break in September.
On a brighter note, Mason Mount has returned to training. Carrick deemed this a “really positive news”.
The manager also spoke enthusiastically about Baleba's transfer:
We’re really pleased to have Carlos with us. He has immense potential, and this is genuinely an exciting transfer for us. His attributes and strengths add the necessary balance to our group.
Now we have different strengths and various combinations of players. Carlos has the ability to improve significantly, so we’re very much looking forward to what he can bring to the team.
