Former Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino has reflected on the success of his legendary attacking partnership with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, calling their time together a massive honour and a great pleasure.
The trio of Firmino, Salah, and Mane is regarded as one of the most formidable attacking line-ups in European football history. Together, they lifted six major trophies during their time at Anfield, including the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, Premier League, FA Cup, and the EFL Cup.
It worked so effectively because our qualities complemented each other perfectly. Each of us could find the back of the net, but we also created opportunities for one another. There was a colossal understanding between us: we could literally sense each other’s positions on the pitch and knew exactly where to place the ball.
Playing alongside them was a true joy. Each of us worked incredibly hard on the pitch and always prioritised the team’s interests over our own.
I wish Mo all the best in this new chapter of his career in Turkey after his recent move to Trabzonspor. He broke so many records at Liverpool. The three of us made history by winning absolutely everything. We were fortunate to have such an incredible manager.
