Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has commented on the 2-2 draw with Hull City in the Premier League.
"We are disappointed with the result. We wanted to win. Especially after leading, we should be unhappy with certain aspects of our game," Alonso told BBC Sport.
The Spanish coach feels that Chelsea allowed their opponents to level the score far too easily.
"We were too soft in the build-up to their goal. We can do much better. Playing well for 15–20 minutes isn’t enough; we need to be at our best for all 90 minutes," he added.
Alonso acknowledged that his side had opportunities to snatch a winner but failed to capitalise on their chances.
"We could have done more. We had one or two decent chances to score the winning goal, but we were still vulnerable. I'm not satisfied. We can play better. We got what we deserved," he said.
Alonso on the rebuilding process
The Chelsea manager also highlighted the need for his team to become more organised and stable.
"We need to be more reliable and better at controlling games. We have new players and a new coaching staff. It’s a process, and in a few months, I’m confident we will manage matches more effectively," he explained.
Chelsea let a home advantage slip away against Hull City, finishing the match at 2-2.
