Paul Scholes has commented on the altercation involving Declan Rice and Morgan Rogers towards the end of the London derby between Arsenal and Chelsea. The former Manchester United midfielder feels that the reaction of the Blues' newcomer was justified following a tactical foul from his opponent.
The incident unfolded during a threatening Chelsea counter-attack, with Cole Palmer driving towards goal when Rice tripped Rogers, halting his momentum. This led to a heated exchange between the players, resulting in Rogers receiving a yellow card for his response.
Speaking on the podcast The Good, The Bad & The Football, Scholes suggested there might have been underlying tension between the England teammates dating back to the summer:

What Declan did to him is one of the most annoying things in the world. When you’re running and someone just trips you from behind.
He brought Morgan down, so his reaction is completely understandable.
For Rogers, the match was a mixed bag. The 24-year-old made headlines by scoring within just 77 seconds, but as the game wore on, Arsenal managed to limit his influence, ultimately winning 2-1.
