Michael Owen has voiced concerns over Marcus Rashford's performance as the forward struggles to find his feet in the new Premier League campaign. After returning to Manchester United following loans at Aston Villa and Barcelona, the 28-year-old has had a barren spell this season, failing to make an impact on the scoresheet.
Rashford has started four out of five league matches for United, clocking over 400 minutes on the pitch without scoring or assisting. Following a 1-1 draw against Fulham, Owen highlighted not just Rashford's lack of production but also his overall demeanour on the field.
Owen commented:
On the left, Rashford was, arguably, the least visible among the attacking players.
Against Fulham, he once again appeared dejected—this was evident in his body language and facial expressions. It seems as though he isn’t enjoying football at all, and that has been a concern for a while now with Marcus.
It looks like the weight of the world is on his shoulders. You have to wonder: How? Why? He lives a life that millions dream of.
There must be something going on behind the scenes that’s causing him to look like someone who is not enjoying football.
After five matches, Rashford is still yet to register a single contribution in the Premier League.
