The streak kicked off with Jorginho's arrival in January 2023, followed by Kai Havertz's move to Arsenal in the summer of the same year. In 2024, Raheem Sterling joined the Gunners on loan, and by the summer of 2025, Arsenal had acquired two players from Chelsea — Kepa Arrizabalaga and Noni Madueke.
However, the summer of 2026 marked a change in fortunes as this peculiar streak came to an end. Despite Arsenal's active pursuit in the transfer market, they did not sign a single player directly from Chelsea.
During Arteta's tenure, Arsenal has spent around £130 million on players brought in from Chelsea, which accounts for the transfer fees for Jorginho, Havertz, Kepa, and Madueke. It's worth noting that Sterling's loan deal has been treated separately and is not included in this total.
Arteta has previously highlighted the quality of players transitioning from Chelsea, noting that these acquisitions suited Arsenal's needs.
