Manchester United's manager Michael Carrick has admitted that the three-week international break has not arrived at a perfect time. However, he noted that the lack of Premier League matches has allowed the coaching staff to analyse the team's performance in detail.
The Red Devils have had a mixed start to the season, with Carrick emphasising that the extended break felt longer than usual. Nonetheless, the boss assured fans that the club has made the most of this period ahead of their return to competitive action.
Reflecting on the break, Carrick stated:
‘Yes, I’ll be completely honest, it’s not an ideal situation. It’s a long layoff and, from my perspective, it does feel quite long, but we’ve certainly maximised our time.’
The United manager added:
‘I think, regardless of results, when you have a chunk like this, international breaks generally serve as a time for some analysis and planning. This break has felt particularly drawn out, and it has certainly given us the chance to maintain the good habits we are still exhibiting. We definitely need to tidy up other areas to achieve better results.’
