Swedish midfielder Hugo Larsson made his debut for Fulham on Saturday, just four days after completing his move from Eintracht Frankfurt.
The 21-year-old came off the bench for Oscar Bobb with around 15 minutes left in the match against Crystal Palace, but was unable to turn the tide as the Cottagers fell to a 3-2 defeat. This leaves Fulham still searching for their first points of the Premier League season.
Despite the disappointing start for the Londoners, Larsson's introduction brought some positive news for his former club. According to Kicker, his appearance in the 79th minute activated a clause in his agreement that turned his initial loan into a full transfer, meaning Eintracht will receive €22 million. This influx of cash will be a significant boost for the Frankfurt side, who aim to achieve a transfer surplus of over €50 million this summer.
Larsson joined Eintracht from his boyhood club Malmo in the summer of 2023 and quickly established himself as a key player in the starting lineup. During his time in Germany, he made 119 official appearances across all competitions and netted 10 goals. His departure also facilitated Eintracht's midfield reshuffle following the signings of Noel Asiko from Bayern Munich and Raphael Onyedika from Brugge.
