Haaland announced the purchase of a house in Abu Dhabi in a residential complex linked to Manchester City. The property was purchased alongside his father. This news follows the club being found guilty of 114 counts of breaching Premier League financial rules.

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has announced the purchase of property in Abu Dhabi. The Norwegian has become one of the owners of a residence in the elite Ohana Residencies complex, which is being developed in partnership with the English club.

This news comes just a week after an independent commission found Manchester City guilty on 114 counts of breaching Premier League financial regulations.

Haaland shared details of his purchase in a video shown during the project launch at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.

The forward said:

Hello everyone! I'm really excited to join the Manchester City Ohana project. Now we’re going to be neighbours in Abu Dhabi. I’ve just bought a house, and my dad has too!

Prices for residences in the complex start at around £770,000 for a two-bedroom townhouse, while the most expensive individual villas are valued at over £7.25 million.

The complex will house a Manchester City football academy, the club’s branded café, restaurants, a private beach, and a canal promenade.

Property buyers can also apply for a ten-year UAE residency visa thanks to their investment cost.

Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge Haaland, was present at the launch and spoke to the guests. He was later joined by former Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who took part in a Q&A session.

One lucky attendee even won a property in a raffle during the event.

Meanwhile, the future of Manchester City remains uncertain due to the ongoing dispute with the Premier League.

The independent commission found the club guilty on 114 counts. According to a Premier League statement, the commission determined that between 2009 and 2018, City inflated their revenues by nearly £900 million through fictitious sponsorship deals.

The Manchester club disagreed with the commission's findings and has lodged an appeal, claiming to possess irrefutable evidence of their innocence.

No definitive punishment has been established yet. Should the guilty verdict stand after the appeal, Manchester City could face severe sanctions, ranging from point deductions and transfer restrictions to exclusion from the Premier League.

The possibility of legal action from other English clubs is also being discussed.

However, Haaland's property purchase does not indicate any intention of leaving Manchester City; rather, it is tied to a commercial project associated with the club in the UAE.

Enzo Maresca’s side is currently preparing for an away match against Liverpool at Anfield, aiming to extend their winning streak in the league despite the uncertainty surrounding the club's future.
