Manchester City manager Enzo Mareska reflected on the 1-0 victory over Coventry City.
“I was pleased with a lot today. In the first half, we could have scored another one or two goals, but we worked well as a team to secure the win. I’m happy,” said Mareska.
The coach highlighted the challenges posed by teams that deploy a low block.
“It’s tough playing against teams that sit back. I believe we handled it well. Nine times out of ten, matches like these can end with poor feelings, so it’s vital to grind out a 1-0 win,” he noted.
Mareska also emphasised the need for his team to adapt to varying match scenarios:
“Not all performances will be beautiful. Sometimes we have to endure difficult moments.”
Additionally, he reported that Nico O’Reilly picked up a minor back injury during the warm-up.
