Frank Lampard commented on Coventry's defeat to Manchester City, saying they didn't deserve to lose.

Coventry City manager Frank Lampard reflected on his side's narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City in the third round of the Premier League.

‘I don’t think we deserved to lose. We were getting better as the game went on. Of course, City created chances, but my players did a fantastic job. I’m disappointed because we deserved at least a point,’ Lampard remarked.

The manager highlighted the progress his team has made, particularly after facing tough opponents.

‘We’ve played against two of the strongest teams on paper. All we can do is focus on our own performance. In the second half, we applied pressure, and that was a significant improvement compared to our match against Arsenal,’ he added.

Lampard also praised Ethan Pinnock, who made his way into the starting lineup, and acknowledged the support from the fans.

In Lampard's view, the outcome of Coventry’s season will heavily hinge on matches against direct rivals.
