Declan Rice has praised Kevin De Bruyne's performance after Arsenal's 1-0 victory over Napoli in the Champions League, noting that the Belgian still poses a considerable threat to opponents.
This match marked De Bruyne's first start for Napoli this season after three appearances off the bench in Serie A.
Following the game, Rice was asked about his encounters with the former Premier League adversary.
The Arsenal midfielder said:
Yeah, it was great. Even with our win, he still caused us a lot of problems.
He's such a smart player who finds space brilliantly. It was really nice to see him again after so many years of playing against each other.
After the final whistle, Mikel Arteta, who previously managed De Bruyne at Manchester City, shared a warm chat with the Belgian.
The Arsenal boss remarked:
When it comes to Napoli players, Kevin De Bruyne is one of my all-time favourites. I was lucky enough to coach him and work alongside him for almost four years.
In my opinion, he is one of the best midfielders in history. Watching him play is still a pleasure.
