Manchester City has officially announced the signing of Ayoub Bouaddi from Lille. The 18-year-old midfielder, who represents Morocco, has signed a five-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2031. This transfer is still pending international registration.

Despite his young age, Bouaddi has made 96 appearances for Lille. He initially represented France at youth level before deciding to don the Moroccan jersey, where he has already earned eight caps.

Sharing his thoughts on the transfer, the young talent said:

This is a special day for me and my family. To me, Manchester City is the best club in the world. I’ve dreamed of being here and being able to call myself a City player.

I have watched the team for many years and love their style. City always aims to play quality football and consistently proves that they know how to win. It feels like this club is made for success.

I still have a lot to improve on. I am only 18. I’m happy with my progress but realise how much better I can become. Without a doubt, this is the best place for my development.

This club demands trophies, and I will give everything to ensure we fight for every title.

City's Director of Football, Hugo Vianna, also acknowledged Bouaddi's immense potential:

Ayoub's potential is incredibly high. He possesses all the qualities needed to be a top midfielder. At just 18 years old, he already has outstanding football intelligence, which will only grow under Enzo's guidance.

We have been watching him closely and become increasingly confident that we have a tremendous talent capable of succeeding at City.
