London's Arsenal considered 23-year-old English midfielder Elliot Anderson as one of several options to strengthen their midfield in the recent summer transfer window.
According to BBC Sport's Sam Mokbel, Anderson was included in a broader shortlist of 21 key targets. The Gunners also investigated the likes of Alex Scott, Amadou Onana, and Sandro Tonali as they weighed up their options. Although the hierarchy explored potential deals for each of these players, they ultimately opted to secure Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle instead.
Anderson, who has made 17 appearances for the England national team, made the switch from Nottingham Forest to Manchester City for a hefty fee of around €135 million in July 2026. Notably, he also attracted significant interest from other European giants, such as Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Liverpool. Currently, reputable site Transfermarkt estimates the midfielder's market value at €110 million.
