15-Second Brief
Manchester City midfielder Elliot Anderson revealed his childhood support for the club while sharing his expectations for the upcoming Manchester derby against Manchester United.

Elliot Anderson, a homegrown talent from Newcastle United, has found himself in the spotlight as a childhood photo of him sporting a Manchester City kit made waves online.

Following his summer move to the Etihad Stadium, the English midfielder shed light on this quaint story.

Deep down, I am a Newcastle fan, but everyone always has a second favourite team. For me, it was Manchester City. I was about seven or eight when I started following the club, and I loved it. My grandfather gave me their shirt, and from then on, I have supported them with joy.

The 23-year-old has quickly established himself as a first-team regular and is set to feature in the starting XI for Sunday’s Manchester derby against Manchester United.

I’ve seen a lot of derbies, and they are always tough matches with incredibly loud atmospheres. I hope it will be a truly passionate game. These are the kinds of matches I want to be involved in. I think we’re in for a real battle filled with challenges and fierce competition for the ball. We'll do everything to execute our plan perfectly, secure the three points, and delight the fans with a strong performance.
