Manchester United are setting their sights on Bournemouth left-back Adrien Truffert as they seek a replacement for the 31-year-old Luke Shaw.
According to TEAMtalk, Bournemouth value the 24-year-old Frenchman at £60 million and have no intention of budging on that price.
The Cherries are adopting a similarly tough stance on their other top talents, with fees of around £100 million expected for Alex Scott, Junior Stanislas, and Ryan Christie.
United decided against signing a new left-back in the summer. However, with Shaw's ongoing fitness issues, manager Michael Carrick is in desperate need of reinforcements in that position.
Initially, the Manchester club's interest was piqued by Lewis Hall, but his recent contract extension with Newcastle until 2031 has made any move for him prohibitively expensive and complicated.
As noted by talkSPORT, Truffert excelled last season with impressive stats: 103 tackles and 48 interceptions. Expert Jason Cundy even hailed him as the best left-back in the Premier League.
With English experience, high work rate, and attacking potential, Truffert fits perfectly into Carrick's playing style.
