Alexis Mac Allister has revealed he would like to sign a new contract with Liverpool to stay at the club after 2028. As it stands, the Merseyside outfit has not offered the Argentine midfielder a contract extension.
Mac Allister joined Liverpool from Brighton in 2023 on a deal lasting until June 2028. The 27-year-old has previously admitted he is disappointed by the lack of an offer for a new agreement.
This season, the midfielder continues to fight for his place in Andoni Iraola's team, having scored against both Atletico Madrid and Tottenham in his first seven appearances.
During the international break, Mac Allister was once again queried about his future.
The midfielder responded:
There's no firm decision yet. I still have two years left on my contract. As I've said, I'm committed to giving my all. A lot can happen in that time, and there are plenty of options.
I hope to be here for a few more years, but if it's just these two years ahead, I'll enjoy them with my family because I have no doubt: I am at one of the best clubs in the world.
Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai, who also joined Liverpool in 2023, have already received new contracts. Meanwhile, Mac Allister remains without an extension, though he still has two seasons left on his current deal.
After the international break, Liverpool will host Manchester City at Anfield.
