Arsenal and Chelsea have both taken an interest in Feyenoord midfielder Djivai Zehil. According to CaughtOffside, the two London clubs are closely monitoring the 22-year-old as the January transfer window approaches.
After spending some time on loan at Sparta and Utrecht, Zehil has returned to Rotterdam and quickly established himself as a key player for Feyenoord. In just seven appearances in the current Eredivisie season, he has netted five goals and provided four assists. His tally also includes 19 chances created and an impressive 89% pass completion rate.
The interest in the young midfielder isn't new. Last summer, Lille made several attempts to secure his signature, with their final offer reportedly around €17 million including bonuses. Feyenoord rejected this approach.
Zehil has since confirmed that Lille's interest was genuine, but he expressed satisfaction with staying at Feyenoord.
Now, Feyenoord finds itself in a stronger negotiating position. Given Zehil's bright start to the season, his value is estimated at around €30 million, although neither Arsenal nor Chelsea have made official bids yet.
Feyenoord's contract situation means they are not under pressure to sell, so any potential buyer in January will need to come in with a significant offer.
