Tottenham are gearing up to reignite their pursuit of Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White during the upcoming January transfer window.
Back in 2025, Spurs had an initial bid of £60 million turned down when they activated his release clause. The deal fell through, however, due to a looming legal threat from Forest. Following that, Gibbs-White signed a new contract, but Tottenham's interest hasn’t waned.
According to Football Insider, Gibbs-White remains Spurs' top transfer target. This time around, though, they could be looking at a staggering fee of around £125 million.
This hefty price tag is justified by the player’s outstanding form. Last season, he netted 15 goals in the Premier League, and in 2026 alone, he has already scored 13, making him the league's top scorer for the calendar year.
Furthermore, Nottingham Forest are not facing financial difficulties following a lucrative sale of Elliott Anderson to Manchester City.
With Spurs' head coach, Roberto De Zerbi, in desperate need of creative flair, this winter move for Gibbs-White would be a significant gamble for both the club hierarchy and the player, who will be expected to deliver immediate results. There are also no assurances that Forest will even entertain discussions about a sale.
