Manchester United forward Benyamin Seshko has declared that his injury concerns are a thing of the past, revealing that his previously troubled shin is now in 'perfect condition'.
On Thursday, the Slovenian striker made his first start of the season for United, making an impact by scoring in their 4-0 Champions League victory against Sabah.
In the opening three Premier League matches, Seshko had been used as a substitute. The coaching staff opted to manage his fitness carefully after he missed a significant chunk of pre-season training, a decision the player believes was the right one.
It was all about making sure the situation didn’t worsen because it truly was a concern. We just needed a bit more time than usual, as jumping back in too early could’ve meant a repeat of the issue. I think waiting was a great call; everything has healed now and I feel fantastic. The problem was with my shin.
Seshko also recalled how he missed the end of his debut season at Old Trafford due to injury.
I took a knock last season, and there was also a bit of personal pressure involved. That was basically it.
The forward made the switch to Manchester United from RB Leipzig for a fee of £66 million, netting 12 goals in his first season. Now, he feels immensely more confident.
Much better, especially compared to last year. I switched countries, everything was new. Now I genuinely enjoy the process and I’m happy here. I love life at the club, I have fantastic teammates, so there’s really nothing to complain about.
Seshko also revealed that United showed interest in him when he was just 16, but they mutually decided to delay the transfer at that time.
It was just a moment, and we decided to do it because it mattered. Moving from the leagues in Austria or Slovenia straight to Manchester United would’ve been a massive step. I needed to go through certain stages to keep improving, and now I’m finally here.
