Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has delivered a scathing assessment of the club's current predicament, calling for players to step up and take more responsibility.
“United need to stop making excuses. This is Manchester United, and the standards need to be higher. You can't be leading 2-0 at Old Trafford and then simply hand the game away. Players need to show more character, discipline, and accountability,” Keane stated.
Keane: Good players don't guarantee success
According to the former United skipper, the squad is filled with talented footballers, but individual brilliance alone isn't enough.
“There are good players in that dressing room, but having good players is not enough. When you wear that jersey, you must know how to handle the pressure,” he added.
Keane also emphasised that while managers require time to implement their philosophies, the burden of responsibility doesn't rest solely on their shoulders.
“The manager needs time, but players also need to start delivering results. It's that simple,” he concluded.
