Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel is impressed with Marcus Rashford's performance at the start of the 2026/27 season.
The former goalkeeper has shared his thoughts on Rashford's recent performances following his return to Old Trafford.
Speaking about Rashford's displays, Schmeichel said:
Rashford is just thriving. I thought he was absolutely fantastic. There was an article this week in the paper showcasing his new tattoo. He has a tattoo with all the numbers he’s worn, and he’s added the number nine.
This shows that Marcus is determined to get back to being the player he was for the team four years ago when he scored 30 goals in a season.
He played exactly like that. He was seeing his teammates, delivering passes, putting them in good positions, getting the ball into the box. He wasn’t trying to do everything himself; he was looking to make things happen.
This is the Marcus Rashford we all want to see. If we get that player this season, then welcome back, Marcus, we’ve missed you.
Despite not having scored for United yet this season, Rashford's confidence on the pitch suggests the goals will come soon.
He may very well find the back of the net in the upcoming Champions League match against Sabah.
