The Athletic has unveiled its list of the top 10 contenders for the 2026 Ballon d'Or, with Bayern Munich's Harry Kane taking the top spot.
The names of the 30 nominees for the award were officially announced on Tuesday, September 8.
Four players from Bayern Munich made it onto the final list: Harry Kane, Michael Olise, Luis Diaz, and Dayot Upamecano.
According to The Athletic, Kane is currently regarded as the number one favourite.
Meanwhile, his teammate Olise has been placed in second, with Barcelona's Rodri rounding out the top three.
The rest of the top 10 features Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Lamine Yamal, Luis Diaz, Jude Bellingham, and Lionel Messi.
The prestigious Ballon d'Or ceremony for 2026 is set to take place on Monday, October 26, at the Palladium theatre in London.
