Liverpool defender Milosh Kerkez discussed tactical changes in the team following Andoni Iraola's appointment. The Hungarian player is pleased to reunite with the manager and enjoys greater freedom in his attacking play.

Defender Milosh Kerkez has expressed his enjoyment of increased attacking freedom since reuniting with manager Andoni Iraola.

The Hungarian international joined Liverpool from Bournemouth for around £40 million last summer. However, his first season at Anfield under the guidance of Arne Slot proved quite challenging.

Kerkez had previously spent two seasons under Iraola at Bournemouth and believes that the new Liverpool boss has already started to implement significant changes to the team’s style of play.

“Everyone is hopeful that Iraola can bring special times,” stated Kerkez.

“We’re playing really aggressively. We need to run a lot more. It’s good. It’s tough, but if you want to compete at the highest level, especially in the Champions League and the Premier League, you have to do this,” the player noted.

“You can see I have more freedom. I’m really running more, with greater freedom, getting the ball into the box more often. The manager has given me confidence,” added the Hungarian.
