15-Second Brief
Thomas Muller revealed that Manchester United made a €100 million offer for him in 2015, but Bayern Munich rejected the deal.

In the podcast The Late Run, Thomas Muller detailed the possibility of his move to Manchester United in 2015. At the time, the English club, managed by Louis van Gaal, offered over €100 million for the Germany forward, but Bayern Munich turned them down.

I was definitely weighing up a move because my first coach, Louis van Gaal, was at United. However, I was also pleased that Bayern said no, said the 37-year-old forward.

Muller acknowledged that the offer was very tempting, and the prospect of reuniting with his former manager was enticing. At just 25 years old, he felt ready for the challenge of the Premier League. Nevertheless, the club's decision to reject the transfer became a significant recognition for him. In December 2015, Muller signed a contract extension with Bayern until 2021, effectively closing the door on a potential move.
