Marseille and Benfica are eyeing 28-year-old Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo. Chelsea are open to selling the player before the transfer window closes.

French club Marseille has joined Lisbon's Benfica in the race for 28-year-old Chelsea central defender Tosin Adarabioyo.

According to Sky Sports, the player was not included in Chelsea's squad for their final pre-season friendly against Real Sociedad. The hierarchy at Stamford Bridge is reportedly open to a full sale of the centre-back if a compelling financial offer comes in.

Benfica's manager, Marco Silva, is well aware of Adarabioyo's capabilities from their time together at Fulham and sees him as the perfect replacement for Antonio Silva.

Meanwhile, Marseille are actively searching for an experienced and physically commanding central defender, positioning themselves to challenge the Portuguese giants in negotiations with Chelsea.

Adarabioyo joined Chelsea as a free agent in the summer of 2024, with his contract running until 2028. However, following the arrival of Maxence Lacroix, the Englishman risks losing consistent first-team opportunities.
