Jordan James, the 22-year-old central midfielder from Rennes and the Welsh national team, has caught the eye of numerous English clubs as the summer transfer window draws to a close.
Among the leading candidates vying for the Welshman’s signature are Nottingham Forest, Everton, and Crystal Palace.
Rennes has significantly adjusted their financial demands: while the French club valued the midfielder at £20-25 million earlier in the year, they have now dropped the asking price to £10 million (approximately €12 million), aligning with his current market value according to Transfermarkt.
Despite the Premier League interest, experts believe that a move to one of the Championship's top clubs, where James would be assured of regular playing time, is the most likely scenario for the player’s career progression.
James currently has a contract with Rennes that runs until the summer of 2028, but the Breton side is open to a full transfer for the player.
The Birmingham City academy graduate has already made 26 appearances for the Welsh national team.
