Al-Hilal shows serious interest in Chelsea winger Pedro Neto. Man City withdrew from the transfer due to high price. Insider Fabrizio Romano.

Al-Hilal has made Pedro Neto, the 26-year-old Portuguese winger from Chelsea, a top target to bolster their attacking wings.

Fabrizio Romano reports that the Riyadh club considers Neto a key figure as they look to strengthen their squad before the transfer deadline.

Previously, Manchester City explored the possibility of signing Neto, with representatives engaging in discussions with the player's agent. However, the reigning Premier League champions withdrew from negotiations after deeming Chelsea's price tag excessively high.

“Manchester City spoke with Pedro Neto's agent, but the club opted not to proceed with the deal as they found Chelsea's valuation of the player too steep. Now, there are two likely scenarios, with Al-Hilal appearing to be the most probable destination should Neto leave,” remarked Fabrizio Romano.

At this point, Al-Hilal seems to be the frontrunner in the race for the Portuguese international if Chelsea opts to finalise a transfer this summer.

Neto's move to the Saudi Pro League hinges on whether Al-Hilal is willing to meet Chelsea's demands in full.
